THE LAST CONTACT Nancy Guthrie’s final steps before she vanished – inside last moments with son-in-law Tommaso Cioni

Missing Mom Nancy Guthrie’s Final Known Movements Revealed as Abduction Mystery Deepens
The mystery surrounding the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues to intensify as authorities reveal new details about her final known movements. The Tucson, Arizona grandmother has not been seen since Saturday evening, when she was dropped off at her home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni.
As investigators work tirelessly to uncover what happened, new developments — including DNA analysis and troubling evidence — have raised serious questions about whether Nancy’s disappearance was a random act or something far more personal.

Nancy Guthrie’s Final Night
According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Nancy Guthrie was dropped off at her Tucson home at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Saturday. Her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, who is married to Nancy’s daughter Annie Guthrie, drove her home after the family had spent the evening together.
Authorities confirmed that the family gathering was a normal dinner with no reported arguments or unusual behavior. Nancy had been enjoying time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren before returning home.
Sheriff Nanos stated that Cioni waited outside the residence to ensure Nancy safely entered the house. Due to her physical ailments, Nancy had difficulty walking, and family members were accustomed to assisting her. After confirming she made it inside, Cioni reportedly left the property.
That was the last confirmed sighting of Nancy Guthrie.
Alarming Discovery the Following Morning
Concern quickly grew the next morning when Nancy failed to appear at her church service — something described as highly unusual for her. A parishioner contacted the family after noticing her absence.
The phone call immediately alarmed Nancy’s loved ones. Given her strong faith and consistent attendance, missing church without explanation was out of character.
When family members attempted to contact her and received no response, concern escalated into fear. Authorities were soon notified, launching what has now become a deeply unsettling investigation.
DNA Evidence and Signs of a Struggle
As investigators processed the scene, critical pieces of evidence were uncovered. According to a former FBI special agent familiar with the case, DNA analysis has confirmed that the suspect had an ongoing conflict with Nancy Guthrie.
Among the items recovered were a discarded glove and the firearm believed to have been used in the incident. Experts have noted that the execution appeared clumsy, suggesting the perpetrator may have been inexperienced.
Investigators believe the individual may not have initially intended to carry out a violent act but rather to intimidate Nancy. However, events may have spiraled out of control.
The presence of DNA evidence has significantly narrowed the focus of the investigation, shifting attention away from the possibility of a random crime and toward someone within Nancy’s circle.
A Familiar Voice at the Door
One of the most puzzling aspects of the case is how an elderly woman with limited mobility would have opened her door late at night — especially to someone wearing a mask.
Authorities believe Nancy did not open her door to a stranger.
Instead, investigators suggest she likely recognized the voice of the person outside. That familiarity may have provided a false sense of safety, leading her to unlock the door without hesitation.
This detail has become central to the investigation, reinforcing the theory that the suspect was someone Nancy knew and trusted.
Questions Surrounding Motive
If Nancy’s disappearance was indeed an act of revenge, investigators are now focused on understanding the motive. What kind of conflict could escalate to such a point?
The DNA confirmation indicating an ongoing dispute suggests the situation may have been brewing beneath the surface for some time. Whether it involved financial matters, personal disagreements, or other tensions remains unclear.
One name that has drawn attention is Tommaso Cioni — the last person confirmed to have seen Nancy alive. As Nancy’s son-in-law and a member of the family she had just spent the evening with, his involvement in her final movements is undeniable.
Authorities have confirmed that Cioni dropped her off and waited to see her safely inside. However, questions linger about what happened after he left — and whether anyone else may have returned to the property later that night.
At this stage, no official charges have been announced. Law enforcement officials continue to gather evidence and piece together the timeline of events.
A Community in Shock
The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has shaken the Tucson community. Friends and fellow church members describe her as devoted, kind, and deeply committed to her faith.
Her sudden absence has left many struggling for answers.
The fact that she vanished without any immediate signs of forced entry suggests a calculated interaction rather than a random break-in. This has only heightened anxiety among residents who are closely following the case.
Sheriff Nanos has urged anyone with information about Nancy’s whereabouts or events from Saturday night to come forward.
Investigation Ongoing
As authorities continue to analyze evidence, including the DNA findings and recovered items, the central question remains: What truly happened inside Nancy Guthrie’s home after she walked through the door at 9:45 p.m.?
Was the incident a failed intimidation attempt that escalated unexpectedly? Or was it a deliberate act driven by unresolved conflict?
The theory that Nancy recognized her visitor adds a chilling layer to the mystery. If she trusted the person who came to her door, that trust may have been tragically misplaced.
For now, investigators remain tight-lipped about specific suspects or additional findings. But the case is far from cold.
Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has transformed from a missing person case into a complex investigation involving personal relationships, forensic evidence, and unanswered questions.
As her family awaits clarity and justice, the community hopes that the truth will soon come to light — and that the final chapter in Nancy’s story will finally be revealed.
Stanton Defeats Democratic Socialist Challenger In Arizona Primary

One of the Democratic Party’s most closely watched primary battles has ended with a decisive victory for an incumbent congressman, despite an aggressive challenge from the party’s progressive wing.
The race had drawn national attention as another test of whether candidates running on an anti-Israel platform could unseat more established Democrats.
Rep. Greg Stanton easily defeated democratic socialist challenger Kai Newkirk in Arizona’s Democratic primary Tuesday, securing the nomination for another term in Congress with a commanding margin.
With nearly all votes counted, Stanton received about 68.1% of the vote compared with Newkirk’s 31.9%, according to multiple media outlets.
The victory sends Stanton, a former Phoenix mayor first elected to Congress in 2018, into November’s general election, where he is expected to face Republican Zuhdi Jasser.
Following the race, Stanton described the outcome as a choice about the future direction of the Democratic Party.
“This campaign presented voters with a real choice about how Democrats should lead,” Stanton said in a statement posted to his campaign page.
“Tonight, the voters chose proven leadership that fights back, delivers real results, and brings our party together.”
Throughout the campaign, Newkirk attempted to make U.S. support for Israel the defining issue in the race.
He repeatedly criticized Stanton for receiving support from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, commonly known as AIPAC, and accused the organization of wielding too much influence in American politics.
Newkirk also pointed to a multimillion-dollar public messaging campaign promoting Israel as evidence of what he characterized as outside influence in U.S. elections.
Among his policy positions, Newkirk called for ending U.S. military aid to Israel and imposing an arms embargo on the country.
He also sharply criticized Stanton after the congressman voted against an amendment offered by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., that would have reduced military assistance to Israel.
“Greg Stanton has taken over $300K from AIPAC,” Newkirk wrote during the campaign.
Stanton defended his vote, arguing that reducing military assistance would weaken America’s ability to counter threats from Iran while also acknowledging that changes in Israeli leadership and policy would be necessary as the current U.S.-Israel security agreement approaches its 2028 expiration.
Although Stanton has supported continued military assistance to Israel, he has also publicly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on multiple occasions.
Newkirk received endorsements from several progressive organizations, including Our Revolution, Progressive Democrats of America and Track AIPAC.
He was also endorsed by The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur.
However, his campaign faced setbacks in its closing weeks.
Earlier this month, the Young Democrats of Arizona withdrew their endorsement, saying they had become aware of “concerning patterns of behavior.”
The organization did not publicly provide additional details.
Newkirk denied any wrongdoing and argued the move was part of a political smear campaign.
Despite his sharp criticism of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, Newkirk also condemned antisemitism and spoke out after two Israeli Embassy employees were killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington last year.
“I stand always with my beloved Jewish siblings against the scourge of antisemitism just as I will never stop in the nonviolent struggle to end the genocide in Gaza, release all hostages, and open the way to just, lasting peace,” he said at the time.
The Arizona contest was closely watched because it reflected broader debates inside the Democratic Party over Israel, foreign policy and the growing influence of democratic socialist candidates.
While several progressive candidates have won Democratic primaries around the country in recent years, Stanton’s decisive victory suggests that message did not resonate with enough Democratic primary voters in Arizona’s 4th Congressional District, Trending Politics reported.
With the primary now decided, Stanton will turn his attention to the general election as Democrats seek to defend the seat in November, while Republicans hope to capitalize on continued ideological divisions within the Democratic Party.
