Chapter 1

The crystal chandelier in our luxurious penthouse honeymoon suite gave off a soft romantic glow, but I was wide awake, my expression cold. It was 2:00 AM on our wedding night, and my new husband, Ethan, had quietly left our bed, claiming he was getting champagne from the hotel lounge. Instead, I listened to the faint click of our suite door and followed the sound of his footsteps fading along the carpeted corridor.
Through the security peephole, I watched Ethan’s broad shoulders disappear into room 412—the suite assigned to Jessica, my chief bridesmaid and supposed best friend.
They believed they’d concealed their months-long affair behind harmless bridesmaid fittings and late-night wedding preparations. But Ethan didn’t know I’d installed a discreet motion sensor and smart-lock notification system across our floor weeks earlier, allowing me to monitor movement through real-time alerts.
Rather than collapse into tears like a devastated bride, I felt an intense, icy calm settle over me.
I sat at the vanity, picked up my phone, and opened the family group chat containing both sets of parents, siblings, and close relatives staying at the hotel overnight.
With steady fingers and a ruthless smile, I composed the message that would unravel their carefully hidden lies:
“Special surprise gift inside room 412, come livestream the door opening right now!”
Within seconds, doors began opening along the hallway. Believing they’d been invited to a sweet midnight wedding surprise or romantic gift presentation, relatives hurried out wearing pajamas and robes.
They gathered excitedly in the corridor, raising their phones to livestream the occasion.

My heart raced with anticipation as I unlocked our suite, stepped into the hallway, and watched my mother-in-law eagerly turn the handle of room 412.
She pushed the door open with a cheerful greeting, only to freeze as piercing screams erupted from the crowd in complete disbelief.
