Chapter 15 - THE FOREVER FAMILY

Six months later.

The summer sun shone brightly over the grand gardens of the Volkov estate.

White roses bloomed along the marble walkways.

Soft orchestral music drifted through the warm afternoon breeze.

Dozens of guests sat in elegant white chairs arranged on the manicured lawn.

Business partners, local community leaders, and neighborhood friends from the diner were all gathered together.

I stood behind the silk curtains of the garden pavilion, adjusting my lace wedding dress.

My heart was beating fast, filled with quiet joy.

The double doors opened softly.

Misha walked in, wearing a tiny black tuxedo with a red bow tie.

He held a velvet cushion with our wedding bands resting on top.

"You look like a princess, Elena!" Misha said, his gray eyes shining with excitement.

I knelt down in my dress, fixing his bow tie gently.

"And you look like a very handsome prince, Misha," I smiled warmly.

"Are you ready for your big job today?"

"I'm ready!" Misha nodded proudly. "Papa is waiting outside."

"He keeps checking his watch because he wants to see you."

I laughed softly, standing up and taking a deep breath.

The music shifted to the wedding march.

Misha led the way down the aisle, throwing flower petals on the grass with a proud grin.

I stepped out onto the carpeted pathway.

At the end of the aisle stood Mikhail.

He looked striking in a black tuxedo, his tall frame cut with flawless elegance.

When his eyes met mine, his entire face softened.

The fierce mafia boss vanished completely.

In his eyes was only a man madly in love.

I walked down the aisle, every step reminding me of the journey that had brought us here.

From a quiet, rainy night at a struggling diner...

To standing here in the sunshine, about to promise my life to the man I loved.

When I reached the altar, Mikhail offered his hand.

I took it, feeling the familiar warmth and strength in his grip.

"You are breathtaking, Elena," he whispered softly.

"You take my breath away every day," I replied gently.

The officiant spoke words of love, commitment, and union.

When the time came for the vows, Mikhail turned to me, holding both my hands.

"Elena," Mikhail said, his voice deep and echoing with emotion.

"I spent years living in the dark."

"I believed my duty was only to protect my empire and my son."

"Then you walked into my life with a heart full of compassion."

"You taught me that strength is not just about power or force..."

"It is about love, kindness, and family."

"I vow to protect you with my life."

"I vow to cherish you, honor you, and love you for all eternity."

I felt happy tears warm my cheeks as I looked into his eyes.

"Mikhail," I spoke softly.

"When your son walked into my diner, I thought I was helping a lost boy."

"I didn't know he was leading me to my true home."

"You gave me strength when I was broken."

"You protected my family's legacy and gave me a future filled with joy."

"I promise to love you, stand beside you in every storm, and care for our family forever."

"By the power vested in me," the officiant announced with a warm smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife."

"You may kiss the bride."

Mikhail didn't hesitate for a single second.

He pulled me into his arms and lifted me slightly, kissing me with fierce, tender passion.

The crowd erupted into loud applause and cheers!

Misha ran up to us, jumping up and down with excitement.

Mikhail caught his son with his free arm, hugging us both tight against his chest.

The three of us stood together in the bright sunlight, wrapped in a warm embrace.

We were no longer just individuals surviving in a tough city.

We were a family.

Bound not by blood or obligation...

But by love, destiny, and the beautiful magic of a simple act of kindness on a stormy night.
