PART 2

“THE GIRL NOBODY LET EXPLAIN HERSELF” — PART 2
For the next week, the boyfriend didn’t attack.
He didn’t argue.
He didn’t threaten.
That was the scary part.
Because predators don’t always move forward.
Sometimes they wait.
And let the damage grow by itself.
The daughter barely left her room.
At dinner, conversations stopped when she arrived.
Her mother was polite.
But distant.
Like she was talking to a stranger.
And every day, the boyfriend seemed to become more trusted.
More loved.
More untouchable.
Then one afternoon, everything got worse.
The daughter came home from college and found her mother sitting silently at the kitchen table.
A printed paper lay in front of her.
The boyfriend stood nearby looking uncomfortable.
Almost guilty.
Almost.
The daughter immediately felt her stomach drop.
“What happened?”
Her mother slowly pushed the paper toward her.
The daughter’s hands started shaking before she even picked it up.
Then she saw it.
A screenshot.
An email.
Sent from an account using her name.
To the boyfriend.
The message was horrifying.
It sounded obsessive.
Desperate.
Romantic.
Exactly the kind of thing that would support his story.
The daughter’s eyes widened.
“I DIDN’T WRITE THIS.”
The boyfriend immediately looked away.
Like he didn’t want to embarrass her.
Her mother rubbed her forehead.
“Please don’t do this.”
The daughter felt panic rising.
“Mom, look at me. I didn’t send this.”
The boyfriend quietly sighed.
“I told you we shouldn’t show her.”
The daughter wanted to scream.
Every sentence he spoke made him sound reasonable.
And made her sound unstable.
That was the trap.
Then the boyfriend reached into his pocket.
“There’s something else.”
The daughter’s blood ran cold.
Another screenshot.
Another message.
Then another.
And another.
Weeks of fake conversations.
Created perfectly.
The dates matched.
The times matched.
Everything matched.
Except one thing.
None of them were real.
But nobody else knew that.
The mother’s face slowly fell apart as she read them.
Each screenshot pushed her further away.
Each lie built another wall.
And the daughter could feel herself losing.
Again.
“Mom, please…”
Her voice broke.
“Please just listen to me for five minutes.”
But before her mother could answer—
the boyfriend softly spoke.
“I think she needs help.”
The room went silent.
The daughter stared at him.
He continued carefully.
Like he was choosing every word.
“She’s under a lot of stress.”
The mother’s eyes filled with concern.
Not for the truth.
For him.
For the family.
For the situation.
Exactly what he wanted.
Then came the worst moment yet.
The mother looked at her daughter and quietly asked:
“Would you be willing to speak to a counselor?”
The daughter felt like the floor disappeared beneath her.
Because suddenly she understood.
He wasn’t trying to prove she was guilty.
He was trying to convince everyone she was confused.
If people believed she was unstable…
Then nothing she said would matter.
Not now.
Not later.
Not ever.
That night, she sat alone in her room staring at the wall.
Defeated.
Broken.
Trapped.
Then her phone buzzed.
Unknown Number.
She almost ignored it.
Almost.
But something made her open the message.
There was only one sentence.
One sentence that made her sit upright instantly.
A sentence that turned all her fear into shock.
The message read:
“I know he’s lying.”
Attached beneath it…
was a photo.
A photo of the boyfriend.
Taken yesterday.
Standing with a woman neither she nor her mother had ever seen before.

And the next message appeared immediately after.
“I have much worse.”
