Chapter 1

In one of the most beautiful houses in Lekki, Lagos, Mr. and Mrs. Adeyemi lived what everyone thought was a perfect life.
They had money.
They had a beautiful mansion.
And they had only one child—Cynthia.
But Cynthia was not an ordinary daughter.
She was spoiled beyond imagination.
Whatever she wanted, her parents bought.
Whatever mistake she made, they covered it.
And whenever someone complained about her behavior, her mother always said:
“She is our only child. She will change with time.”
But Cynthia never changed.
Instead, she became worse.
No maid could stay in their house for more than a few months.
The first maid was accused of stealing a bracelet.
The second was dismissed after Cynthia claimed she insulted her.
The third left after Cynthia slapped her.
And the fourth maid resigned after Cynthia deliberately poured food on her clothes.
Yet Cynthia's parents always blamed the maids.
Until one day, a young woman named Esther arrived.
She was quiet, respectful, and desperately needed the job.
Mrs. Adeyemi warned her:
“Cynthia can be difficult. But if you do your work properly, you'll be fine.”
Esther smiled.
“Yes, ma.”
Then Cynthia walked downstairs.
She looked Esther from head to toe.
“You're the new maid?”
“Yes, ma.”
Cynthia pointed upstairs.
“Take my bags to my room.”
Esther obeyed.
But as she turned to leave, Cynthia called her back.
“And listen carefully.”
Esther turned.
“You don't touch my things.”
“Yes, ma.”
“You don't enter my room without permission.”
“Yes, ma.”
“And if you make one mistake…”
Cynthia smiled coldly.
“…you're gone.”
Esther nodded.
But she had no idea that within weeks, Cynthia would accuse her of something that could destroy her life.

And this time…
Cynthia had prepared evidence.
