Chapter 2 - THE MAID WAS ACCUSED OF STEALING THE GOLD BRACELET, BUT THE SECURITY GUARD KNEW THE TRUTH

NO MAID LASTED IN THEIR HOUSE—THEIR DAUGHTER WAS SO SPOILED, AND THEY TOLERATED HER UNTIL THE DAY SHE…

Esther had worked in the Adeyemi mansion for only three weeks.

She had already learned one thing:

Cynthia was dangerous.

One Saturday morning, Cynthia came downstairs looking furious.

“Esther!”

“Yes, ma?”

“Where is my gold bracelet?”

Esther stopped cleaning.

“I don't know, ma.”

“I kept it on my dressing table last night!”

“I didn't enter your room, ma.”

Cynthia stared at her.

“You're the only person who cleans my room.”

Esther immediately became nervous.

“Ma, I didn't take it.”

Cynthia suddenly shouted,

“Daddy!”

Mr. Adeyemi came out of his study.

“What happened?”

“My gold bracelet is missing.”

He looked at Esther.

“Did you take it?”

“No, sir. I swear.”

Cynthia quickly ran upstairs.

A few moments later, she returned holding the bracelet.

She pointed at Esther.

“I found it inside her bag!”

Esther's eyes widened.

“What?”

She rushed to her room and opened her bag.

The gold bracelet was there.

Esther almost collapsed.

“I swear I didn't put that there!”

Cynthia folded her arms.

“Of course you would say that.”

Mrs. Adeyemi looked disappointed.

“Esther, why would you do this?”

“I didn't, ma! Someone planted it in my bag!”

Cynthia laughed.

“Who would do that?”

Esther looked directly at her.

But before she could answer, the security guard walked into the room.

“Sir…”

Everyone turned.

The guard looked nervous.

“I need to tell you something.”

Mr. Adeyemi frowned.

“What?”

The guard looked at Cynthia.

“I saw someone enter Esther's room last night.”

Cynthia's face suddenly changed.

The room became completely silent.

Mr. Adeyemi stepped forward.

“Who?”

May you like

The security guard took a deep breath.

“It was…”
