PART 5: THE SYSTEMATIC LIQUIDATION

PART 5: THE SYSTEMATIC LIQUIDATION
The corporate shockwaves from Marco Callahan’s arrest hit the financial district at 8:01 a.m. the following Monday morning.
Callahan Consultancy, the boutique firm Marco had managed using my primary accounts, was completely frozen. The digital tickers running across Bloomberg and CNBC were unforgiving: CALLAHAN CONSULTANCY PLACED UNDER IMMEDIATE FEDERAL RECEIVERSHIP; ACCOUNTS FROZEN AMID FRAUD INVESTIGATION.
Inside the high-rise office lobby, chaos erupted as employees stood in frantic clusters around the trading desks. Local marshals systematically placed red security seals across the metal filing cabinets, while the glass double doors bearing Marco's name were propped open by heavy bins filled with confiscated server drives.
Teresa stood in the center of the executive suite, her fingers digging violently into her designer leather handbag as she screamed at a compliance officer.
"This is an illegal seizure!" she shrieked, her high-society composure entirely fracturing. "My son owns this entire floor! The lease is backed by a twenty-year maritime credit line!"
The officer didn't look up from his digital log. "The credit line was dissolved at midnight, ma'am. The holding entity that actually guarantees this lease is registered to the primary corporate trust under your daughter-in-law's name. You have ten minutes to clear your personal effects before we change the biometric encryption on the main doors."
Marco sat inside the holding facility's legal consultation room, his head resting heavily in his hands. The tailored grey suit he had worn to look like a titan was wrinkled, his phone gone, his luxury lifestyle reduced to a stainless-steel table.
My chief asset-protection attorney, Marcus Bell, stepped into the room, accompanied by two forensic accountants and a notary public. He set a heavy manila folder on the metal table with a definitive, hollow thud.
"She isn't coming, Marco," Marcus said, his voice level and cold. "She’s currently at the regulatory commission finalizing the structural division of the core assets. She has zero interest in hearing your explanation."

Marco looked up, his face entirely pale. "Marcus, please... tell her I can fix the debt. I’ll sign a full administrative waiver. I’ll give her my board seat."
"You don't have a board seat to give," Marcus replied unyieldingly. "The board voted unanimously to strip your executive standing sixty seconds after the signature forgery log was verified. You are no longer an employee of this company, Marco. You are a liability."
