Chapter 7 - Julian’s Fall
Julian and Eleanor moved into a cramped three-star hotel in Queens. Reality hit them like a freight train. Julian, having surrendered every penny to his mother for years, had zero savings.
Desperate, he called his brother Marcus in Ohio.
"Hey man, Mom and I are in a tight spot," Julian pleaded into the phone. "Can you wire us some of that money back? Just until I get my next paycheck."

Marcus laughed. "Are you kidding? I just put a down payment on a yacht, bro. Sorry. Figure it out." And he hung up.
Julian slowly turned to look at his mother, who was complaining about the scratchy hotel towels. The illusion was completely shattered. He had lost his wife, his unborn child, and his home, all for a mother who saw him as nothing more than an ATM.
