Chapter 4: The Recordings

I had been careful. The hallway cameras were motion-activated and backed up to a secure cloud. I kept a small voice recorder in my purse and another hidden in the living room. Every time Ryan raised his voice or grabbed me, I made sure there was proof.
I also kept records of every financial transaction. My father had left the house and a significant trust in my name only. Ryan had access to joint accounts, but nothing more. Victoria had been using a shell company to siphon money from the family business my father had once partially funded. I had been gathering evidence of that for months.
By the time Ryan hit me for refusing to let his mother move in, I already had enough to destroy both of them.
