Chapter 20 - THE QUEEN'S REIGN

The cathedral was completely empty except for the heavily armed guards standing by every stained-glass window.

Lena stood at the altar, looking absolutely breathtaking in a custom-made silk wedding gown.

There were no corrupt politicians, no rival bosses, and no false friends invited to this ceremony.

The only people in the pews were Daniel, her mother, and the loyal soldiers who had bled to protect them.

Victor stood across from her, looking incredibly handsome in a classic black tuxedo.

When he took her hands, his rough, calloused fingers felt like the safest place in the entire world.

The priest spoke quickly, clearly intimidated by the dangerous men filling the sacred space.

When it was time for the vows, Victor didn't read from a card.

"You saved my life when I was blind to the vipers in my own home," Victor said, his voice echoing in the quiet church.

"You gave me a reason to build an empire that actually matters."

"I vow to protect you, honor you, and rule this city by your side until my very last breath."

Lena looked into his dark eyes, feeling a profound, overwhelming sense of peace.

"I was invisible before I met you," Lena whispered, a single, happy tear slipping down her cheek.

"You gave me the power to protect my family, and the courage to finally fight back."

"I am yours, Victor, in this life and the next."

They exchanged the simple gold bands, sealing the ultimate alliance of power and true love.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest said nervously.

Victor pulled her close and kissed her with a fierce, possessive passion that made the guards politely look away.

When they finally broke the kiss, Lena turned to face the small crowd.

Dmitri, standing in the front row, immediately dropped to one knee, bowing his head in total respect.

Every single guard in the cathedral followed his lead, kneeling before the new husband and wife.

Lena Romano looked down at the loyal soldiers, her grip tightening confidently on Victor's hand.
