Chapter 7 - IN THE DARK
The panic room was a concrete bunker equipped with monitors showing the security cameras above.
Daniel sat in the corner, holding his knees to his chest, terrified.
Lena sat in front of the screens, watching the chaotic gunfight unfold in the mansion.
Victor moved like a shadow, taking down intruders with terrifying precision.
He was a predator defending his territory, ruthless and unstoppable.
But there were simply too many of them.
On the screen, Lena saw a masked man hiding in the library, waiting to ambush Victor.
Victor was walking down the hallway, heading straight for the trap.
"He doesn't see him," Lena gasped, her heart stopping.
She grabbed the radio communicator on the desk and hit the broadcast button.
"Victor! Library doors, on your left!" Lena screamed into the microphone.
Victor dove sideways just as the masked man stepped out and fired a shotgun.
The blast tore through the wall where Victor had been standing a second before.
From his position on the floor, Victor returned fire, eliminating the threat instantly.
He looked up at one of the security cameras and gave a quick, sharp nod.

She had just saved his life for the second time.
