Chapter 11: The Confrontation

The Sterling Autumn Gala was the event of the season. Mrs. Dawson arrived, radiant and victorious, expecting to see a broken Alexander and an absent maid. Instead, the evening took a sudden turn when Alexander took the stage, microphone in hand. The room fell silent. "Ladies and gentlemen, charity is meaningless without justice," Alexander began, his voice echoing through the grand hall. He motioned to the massive screens behind him. Instead of foundation statistics, it played a confessed testimony from the catering manager, detailing how Mrs. Dawson paid him to plant the necklace in Sarah's room. The collective gasp was deafening. Mrs. Dawson turned pale, her gold dress suddenly looking cheap under the harsh glare of truth. "True wealth," Alexander continued, locking eyes with the disgraced woman, "is found in integrity. Security will show you out, Eleanor. And my lawyers will be in touch."
