Chapter 10 - A New Legacy

The party had concluded, and the quiet hour of midnight settled over the estate.

Damian walked down the third-floor corridor of the mansion, heading toward his private study. The house was quiet, peaceful, and warm.

As he reached his study door, he noticed a small piece of paper taped to the dark oak wood at eye level.

Damian paused, leaning closer to inspect it.

It was a small, hand-drawn sign written in bright green crayon: “LILY AND DAMIAN’S OFFICE”. Attached to the corner with a piece of tape was a tiny silver plastic key.

A quiet, genuine smile spread across Damian’s handsome face.

He peeled the sign off carefully, opening his study door and walking inside. He walked over to his massive mahogany desk, opening his primary drawer where he kept his most precious legal documents and personal heirlooms.

He set the hand-drawn sign inside the drawer, right beside his father's antique gold watch.

Damian walked over to the broad bay window, looking out over the quiet, snow-dusted harbor below. The ships sat docked safely in the calm water, their lights twinkling like stars against the dark ocean.

The feared mafia boss, who had spent decades building an empire of power, influence, and fear, realized that his greatest victory had not been won on the docks or in the syndicate council chambers. It had been won in his own dining room—when he chose to pull out a chair for a hungry, brave little girl.

Damian took a deep, peaceful breath, leaning against the window frame as the snowfall continued softly outside. The Bellucci empire was safe, its legacy secured, and for the first time in his life, the house truly felt like a home.
