Chapter 50: The Global Feature

While the old generation faded into obscurity, Anna’s name was rising internationally. In early 2037, her Brooklyn design firm was selected to spearhead the architectural and interior re-branding of a massive European luxury hotel chain.

A major global business magazine decided to run a cover story on her, focusing on "The New Guard of Sustainable Design."

I flew to New York for the magazine's launch party in Manhattan. The event was held in a rooftop lounge overlooking the glowing grid of the city. When I walked in, the first thing I saw was a giant display of the magazine cover. There was Anna—poised, elegant, and looking directly into the camera with an unshakeable confidence.

As I stood admiring it, a prominent design critic stepped up next to me. "She’s remarkable, isn't she? Most designers her age rely on family connections or inherited wealth to launch a studio of this scale. But her background profile says she built everything from a state university scholarship and pure grit."

"Yes," I said, a proud smile warming my face. "She had a very solid foundation."

"It must take an incredible amount of strength to stay that grounded in this industry," the critic mused.

"It does," I replied, taking a glass of champagne from a passing tray. "But when you've already faced the worst kind of wolves early in life, a room full of corporate critics doesn't scare you at all."
