Chapter 94

Chapter 94: The Greenpoint Extension
By 2068, young Claire had been named the executive director of the Unified Davis Foundation. She chose to move the primary headquarters from Richmond to the newly expanded Brooklyn design complex—the very neighborhood she had saved from the corporate developers.
The opening night of the new headquarters was a gathering of the nation's creative elite. The walls were lined with the history of our long journey—from the corporate ledgers of 2026 to the structural models of the Hudson Pavilion.
In the center of the grand lobby stood the display case containing the framed bounced check, its red DECLINED stamp now iconic.
A young student from Virginia, who had just received her full scholarship from the trust, stood staring at the check, her face filled with awe. "Is it true? Did her own family really do that to her?"
Claire walked up beside her, wearing a sharp tailored blazer, her eyes warm but unshakeable. "Yes, it's true. They thought they could steal her future to fund a lie. But her mother stood in the driveway and told them that you cannot build a life on stolen foundations. That scrap of paper is the reason you are standing in this room tonight."

The student smiled, a bright flash of determination in her eyes. "I’m going to build something incredible with my scholarship, Ms. Davis."
"I know you are," Claire said. "That’s exactly why we cleared the road."
